Hey loves! Today I'm sharing a common tool I teach my psychotherapy clients. It has to do with:
1 | Identifying the WORDS and PHRASES that we use to describe ourselves, our lives and the issues we face
2 | Noticing how these words and phrases feel in your body as you say them
3 | Understanding the impact that this language has on your thoughts, feelings, beliefs and behaviors
4 | Swapping your language to move you from identifying with (and unconsciously perpetuating) undesirable "traits" to moving in the direction of habits and new tendencies you want to reinforce
Tune in to hear about this tip! Put this into practice by journaling about yourself. See what themes pop up. Are there any words or phrases you use to describe yourself that are disempowering? Swap for more empowering statements and see how it feels. When you catch yourself in conversation using the old identifiers, see if you can switch it up in the moment to create a new habit.
